Project Summary

The proposal is for a solar and energy storage facility which will consist of the following components:

  • Around 290,000 solar panels mounted on either a fixed or single axis tracking system.
  • Access tracks
  • A total solar capacity up to around 90MW
  • Operations and maintenance building with associated car parking
  • An electrical substation
  • Overhead and underground electrical cable reticulation
  • Energy storage
  • Security fencing and CCTV

The design will be shaped by a number of detailed technical, engineering and environmental studies and assessments which include:

  • Ecology - Flora and Fauna
  • Landscape and Visual
  • Noise
  • Cultural Heritage
  • Bushfire Risk
  • Access & Transport
  • Geology and Hydrology

RES values community engagement and it is integral to this project. We will be consulting with the local community and a wide number of stakeholders to provide information on the project as it develops and to seek valuable input into the final design. Consultation activities may include:

  • Community Information Days
  • Newsletters
  • One on One meetings with adjoining residents
  • Community Liaison Meeting (following planning approval)

RES supports the local community wherever possible. Most of the consultants undertaking these studies are based in Southern New South Wales and all have extensive experience in renewable energy development.

We are consulting with a wide range of relevant Local Government, State and Federal Authorities, as well as local businesses, community groups and other interested parties.
